As a football fanatic and a numbers junkie, Bandit highly recommends Strat-O-Matic Football.  It has a decent interface and great insight into football statistics and player ratings.  You can play the computer straight up, go online and compete head to head with other Strat-O-Matic fans, or let the computer simulate the game for you.  After the game, take time to analyze the box score.
